What Does It Mean to Join the PTA?
Signing up for a membership does not mean you need to volunteer in the school or at school events. It is simply a way to show your support for the many programs and opportunities that PTA funds during the school year. While our PTA at Sawyer Woods does encourage our members to find a volunteer position, no matter how big or small, we understand that not everyone has the availability to do so.
The PTA offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as students, as well as many discounts, both locally and nationally. PTA functions are also opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind.
Becoming a PTA member helps support your children,
their teachers, and the school.
Throughout the year, we have several volunteer opportunities. Some are one-time events, some are short-term, while others are on-going for the year. Volunteer opportunities may be before school, during school hours, or after school, while some volunteer needs can be fulfilled at home. Below are a list of links to current sign-ups. If you'd like more information about specific programs (with no obligation to sign up), please fill out our prospective volunteer form.
**All Volunteers must pass a background check through the Kent School District VIPS program, prior to participating in school events.
All new and returning volunteers will need to fill out the volunteer questionnaire, upload their driver's license or other acceptable form of identification, and proof of insurance (only if signing up to be a driver). A background check will be required for all volunteers, prior to helping in the school.
Returning volunteers should sign in to their existing account, and update their profile - there is no need to submit new identification or insurance, unless there has been a change.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the PTA at Sawyer Woods! Please enter your information and select all volunteer opportunities that you are interested in. A follow-up email will be sent out by the program coordinator(s) with more information.
